My Three Things: Healthcare, Personal Story, Fascist MAGA
Personally, this was a weekend that tried souls. Friday, just starting a road trip my wife took ill. I rushed her to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland where she was immediately admitted to the hospital. Once she was settled and the healthcare providers were working their magic, I returned home for a good night’s sleep, our dog snuggled and quietly snoring in his bed next to ours.
The next morning, I woke up to find our terminally ill dog had taken a turn for the worst. After talking with my wife, we decided sadly that it was time to say goodbye to Diego. I called the vet for an appointment. Incredibly sad but a gentle goodbye for a loved one.
After a rough couple of days, my wife was stronger and eager to return home. She did on Monday evening and is stronger by the day. Why am I relating this very personal story? Because through all the stress, worry, and sadness, we were spared one other burden that harms so many, medical expenses. We know our expenses will be minimal thanks to our Medicare and Military healthcare. Our socialized healthcare worked as promised. The staff was superb and the care was top-notch. Everyone should have it.
This country does not have healthcare for all. Instead, each person lives in fear of a serious illness. Fascist MAGA in Congress and the states are working to eliminate the little government healthcare there is Medicare, Medicaid, Military, and Veteran healthcare.
